Gravity Falls is owned by Disney, right? So…… I have never been to DisneyLand so I dont exactly know how it works, but I know they have actors dress up as the characters, and I assume they have little areas dedicated to those shows?
So maybe theyll make a little Gravity Falls area and have Stan and Ford and Dipper and Mabel and Soos and Wendy working in a Mystery Shack gift shop lol. And have an actor dressed up in a big foam triangle Bill costume trying to trick kids into silly deals XD Like, little inconsequential ones like “Ok kid Ill give you a lolipop and for the next hour you are my slave and have to do what I say, how bout a deal?” and if they actually agree he makes them do silly dances or something and if they refuse hes all like “THE DEAL IS OFF” and stomps away all angry lol
idk but Id go to DisneyLand just for this.
So I was thinking, when Dipper and Mabel come back next summer, even if Stan and Ford are still off on their sailing adventure, the kids could probably stay just about anywhere they wanted to.
Soos would 100% let them stay at the shack. He would probably keep rooms for Stan and Ford always clean and ready too for when they come back.
McGucket has tons of extra rooms in his mansion, and would totally let them stay. He is still so thankful they helped him get his memory back, and honestly he would love talking science with Dipper, and of course finds Mabel absolutely delightful.
Even Mayor Tyler would probably let them stay in his mayor mansion lol because they’re like the town heros. Even Pacifica would probably let them room in her still-big-but-not-a-mansion home.
and Ford, Dipper and Mabel all leave Gravity Falls to go back. And Ford has to come up with an excuse for why they’re there with his long thought dead twin brother. And they all have to sort of take care of him and help him get his memories back and it’s slow and it’s hard and it hurts but when they see that spark of remembrance in his eyes, when he remembers even something small it’s worth it. And some nights are harder, a lot of the memories aren’t good ones. Those 10 years are the hardest P2
on him. Living out of his care, being chased out of towns. Not knowing if the next pay check would be the last. And the jails, those are hard. Worst of all Stan is the only one that lived those. They can’t help him with these, and finally Ford gets to see the affects of his choice firsthand, and on a vulnerable Stanley, an near pure innocent blank slate. And it’s like a slap with a bag of bricks. and just ugh I love they happy ending but I also just love to suffer. Like just fuck me up. (end)
I know what you mean, anon. It’s a bittersweet topic, memory loss, especially for someone like Stan who’s already given so much of himself. And I would have loved to see the whole tender process of drawing those memories out, both good and bad, but with his family being there for him, helping him recover, etc.
But I mean, it just wasn’t going to happen, simply in the essence of time the finale had to work with. Buuuut many people, myself included, are already exploring this topic more in-depth with fanworks, and I’m excited, that’s going to be my fix 🙂
I think he regained it so fast partially because of ingrained habits (such as yelling at Waddles), as well as…
(This gif is perfect lol.)
But it also seemed from the whole news report thing that it did take a few days for him to regain it.
Also, another theory I read somewhere on tumblr, the memory gun was set to erase Stanley Pines. But Stanley spent 30 years of his life, and most of that summer, being ‘Stanford’. So, that detail could have helped him regain at least that chunk of his memory back, his memory of being ‘Stanford’, which could have unlocked the rest.
And as McGucket has demonstrated, you only need to regain certain pieces in order to begin piecing together the rest of the memories.
THIS is audio of bill freaking out unreverse before stan PUNCH im pretty sure he says ANCIENT power and will return – anyone hear??
If you’ve ever taken a road trip through the Pacific Northwest, then you’ve probably have seen a bumper sticker for a place called “gravity falls”.
It’s not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it’s a myth, but if you’re curious, don’t wait. Take a trip. Find it.
It’s out there somewhere in the woods…waiting.
