Bill ruined Ford’s mental health. Ford couldn’t sleep, and he was so paranoid that he couldn’t answer the door to his own house without a weapon.

What Bill did was psychological abuse. So please don’t romanticize abuse. 

Yes! Ford was and is the victim of severe mental abuse. Ford:

• Had his childhood insecurities made fun of by Bill:

Was the subject of Bill stalking him:

• Was the victim of extreme manipulation and betrayal by Bill. 
• Was the victim of straight up possession 

• Ultimately had gotten stuck inside the Portal for 30 years thanks to Bill

• Has had things said to him by Bill that clearly make him uncomfortable
• Has his names of affection used against him against him to manipulate or hurt him:
• Poindexter (Stan)
• Fordsy (Mabel)

These were so extreme the effects were that he:

Had and has intense paranoia:

Sleeping issues which from the journal entry below and the sleep deprived Ford above, he developed immediately after the Bill relationship:

Has not only been heavily implied to have hurt himself in the light of the Bill issue:

But confirmed to have done so out of fear of Bill:

Has gotten severe trust issues from their relationship:

Blames himself for a lot of things that were Bill’s fault:

• As well as the portal, the apocalypse etc.

Because he blames himself for all those things he also has little to no value for himself or his personal safety:

Because of their relationship he also has:

• Trouble distinguishing what’s normal and acceptable vs. what’s not
• Frequently showing that while being stubborn, he is extremely scared of Bill.

The psychological effects Bill has had on Ford are huge and you cannot deny Bill’s presence in Ford’s life has nearly destroyed it. Ford consistently displays strange and backward behaviour which can nearly always be traced back to Bill’s presence in his life. All the things listed above are very consistent with the effects of real life abusive relationships and we can 100% define Ford/Bill to have been one.

But besides being a victim of mental abuse (you thought I was done) Ford is also a victim of violation of personal space (which is abusive):

But also from actual, real physical abuse (specifically, being physically constrained without consent):

Ford is a very severe victim of intense abuse please ship him with sleep and peace not the horrible demon from hell. After all he’s suffered at that little waste of oxygen’s hands he deserves so much better than to be shipped with his abuser.
