alex didn’t only give us a satisfying ending, but he left mysteries unsolved, gave us new ones, and – incredibly – has made this show a living, breathing thing in doing so. i don’t see the show ending, i see the characters moving on: i see all of the possible stories this could create. it’s odd, but i’ve never been more pumped to be in the gravity falls fandom… than when it was ending.
this is a complete, complex story with unanswered questions, amazing characters, and it doesn’t even feel like it’s over; it’s really beautiful, actually, because childhood never really ends. it comes with you, wherever you go. growing old is mandatory, but mentally growing up? that’s optional.
so here’s to being twelve when you’re a hundred and twelve, guys.
What she means: The Gravity Falls finale was so good, like really good, no one understands how wonderful it was. Everything was just so great, everything: the beginning, end, and everything in between. Mabel was great. Dipper was great. Ford was great. Stan was great. Wendy was great. Soos was great. We saw relationships strengthen and practically everyone we have seen so far was shown for closure. Soos and Melody were shown together running the shack, Stan and Ford finally took their boat trip and worked out their problems, Mabel got to keep Waddles, Dipper got to take Wendy’s hat home with him, Fiddleford got to spend time with his son, Gideon was (relatively) able to have a normal childhood, Blubs and Durland (were inferred to have) gotten together, and Tyler is a pretty dang good mayor. I am just so passionate about Gravity Falls and the ending was just so astounding, Dipper’s last monologue was amazingly well said and tear-jerking, I j;suttt can’t even form words that can convey how I f e e l. Absolutely nothing was wrong with it, and even though there will be no more new content, I am completely content with how it ended. Gravity Falls will always hold a certain special place in my heart. The last episode of Gravity Falls was s o g o o d.
