Addendum to that last post about Candy and Grenda taking over as explorers of the weirdness of Gravity Falls:
When the two of them are in high school, most of the equipment they inherited from Ford is getting old and busted. (Between Candy’s “instructions are for wimps” attitude and Grenda’s, uh, not exactly gentle way of handling things, they broke a lot of stuff together.)
They’re talking to each other in the hallway about their woes, not sure how they’re going to get new gear since that stuff is expensive and they can’t keep bothering old man McGucket for funding/repairs.
Later that week, Pacifica shows up at Candy’s house saying she’s “called some people” and gotten “an investor” to donate to their research. She hands them a check–it’s not huge, but it’ll give them a good head start.
“Don’t read into this or anything. I’m just trying to help my family rebuild their fortune with smart investments.” she says, as an explosion comes from the living room behind Candy.
Grenda leaps out and crushes Pacifica in a hug while Candy squeals.
Three months later, Pacifica’s joining them on their outings and Gravity Falls has the Mystery Trio it’s always deserved.
