Journal #3 is the canonical journal that the author had and that Dipper discovered—as best as we could create it. And many lingering Gravity Falls trivia questions, whether it’s about what happened to Ford when he went into the portal, or what Dipper’s real name is, will be addressed. It has interesting significance to the lore of Gravity Falls, but that didn’t directly affect or alter the characters’ choices or actual plots in the series. So it’s this really cool companion piece full of secrets and riddles. I will say this: Gravity Falls is a show about mystery, that itch you get when you’re curious. That itself is a really cool, inspiring thing. It’s a thing that drives forward curiosity, that drives momentum and adventure and exploration, and to answer every single question would be counter to the spirit of the series. Even though Journal #3 will have plenty of new answers and surprises, there are some things that we will never know. That’s just the way I like it.

Bill hasn’t been trying to make his presence a secret. He’s going to regret it.

(I’ve been having a lot of fun ideas sprouting about Bill coming back with the resurgence of Stan’s memories, but the memory gun really did a lot of damage to him, and parts of the little varmint are scattered throughout Stan’s mindscape. Stan and Ford start trying to figure out a way to remove him since, y’know, Bill in your head shouldn’t be any good. But despite his threats, Bill can’t really do anything except scuttle around Stan’s labyrinth of a fucking mindscape, and try to look for pieces of himself. And sometimes… only sometimes… he tries to snatch control before Stan inevitably takes it back.) (So many ideas.)

saisai-chan:

headcanon: Soos calls Stan “Mr. Pines” to be respectful, but also because “Stan” sounds really close to “Dad” and Soos is afraid he’ll accidentally call Stanley “Dad” one day, so he sticks to Mr. Pines

secondary headcanon: when Stan leaves with Ford, Soos finally says “You know, I always, uh… kinda saw you as a father figure… Mr. Pines. Um.”

“I know, Soos. And hey, uh, call me Stan from now on. I ain’t your boss anymore, you know.”

“O-oh, okay Mr. Pin–! No, wait, I mean Dad, no uh, Dan, no no, I-I, uh, I mean Stan! Yeah, Stan!! Hahaha…”

Stan pats him on the back, saying “It’s okay, Soos. I understand.” they hug for a moment.

they soon separate, and Stan pats Soos on the arm again. “See ya ‘round, Soos.” Stan starts walking towards his waiting brother. before reaching Ford, he hears a  trong voice trail off into a whisper say, “See ya ‘round… Dad.”

Stan smiles.

Summerween 2k16

timeywimeycumberbutts:

In honor of Gravity Falls ending, and letting the spirit live on, I am proposing that we collectively as a fandom actually celebrate Summerween on the fourth Friday of June: June 24, 2016

I know that I’m not letting go of this small town any time soon, and It seems like most of you aren’t either. And plus Halloween is literally the best holiday and there’s no reason to not celebrate it twice a year. This does not actually entail trick-or-treating to other people’s homes, as that would be greatly disrespectful. It does definitely include wearing costumes and throwing parties. And making Jack-o-melons. Possibly.

I’m just throwing this out there, so if you’re in or have any ideas or feedback, talk to me!

P.S. I really don’t want this fandom to die, please make this a thing.
